Bolivia considers education obligatory and free. In reality, though, educational standards are poor despite reforms, and pupils are required to buy school materials and incur many other costs, making scholarship an extra struggle for working children. At the same time, their attendance and progress are prejudiced, as their time and energy are used up by work.
However, most NATs do attend class, and we must support them in their efforts.
As with education, NATs suffer from problems of time compatibility and cost discrimination. Only the most basic services are free of charge. Medication is out of their reach, and most use traditional and natural medicines instead.
