The philosophy of the centre isn't built on gifts; instead our activities are based on the principle of exchange. We have 5 lines of action:
The children suffer from malnutrition due to defincies in theri daily diet. Therefore, every day we serve lunch and afternoon tea.
The majority of the NATs have problems with reading, writing and arithmetic. Their work and their way of life diminish their opportunity to study. The centre helps them in various ways: we follow up their schooling, instil enjoyment in learning, offer educational materials, keep a library, and train them in a profession.
The childrens' living conditions make it hard for them to maintain good hygiene. The centre offers showers, and a dental hygiene service after lunch.
We also have an infirmary and a number of agreements with hospitals, dentists, opticians, as well as a sexual education programme.
The NATs are migrants, pariahs in the city, and the first victims of family problems. Our social worker works to solve conflicts at the family level, on the street and in their work.
We have a number of lines of action: to develop the imagination and creativity of the children, rescue their culture or simply provide a free space where they can be children. These activities are divided between the painting and drawing workshop, the craft workshop, music, culture, sport, games, trips and camps.
